My Mom's Fast

Always has been.

She thinks fast, speaks fast, walks fast, writes fast, picks up things fast.

If you're slow, you've had your chips.

She's Chinese, born and raised in India.

Growing up, she didn't have much.

Shared a room with four brothers in a tenement.

Dropped out of college to work.

The odds were stacked against her.

But she was faster than most.

The odds never caught up.

If she wants something done, it's a matter of time.

I tell anyone and everyone that my dad's great, but my mom's the best.

One piece of advice she hammers home?

Don't leave things for tomorrow.

Get it done now.

And get it done fast.
